“Bookish” Submissions for A Buncha Book Artists 2017

| | |

The folks over at A Buncha Book Artists are putting together another amazing show of artist books: see it at the Arizona State University Harry Wood Gallery September 4-15, 2017, with an opening reception September 5 from 6-8pm.

My submissions include:

  • Asemic, a quarter circular book made from hand-written asemic text pages, scanned and modified in Adobe Illustrator, cut into circles, rubbed with wax to make the copy paper transparent, folded, and hand-bound. When the book is set down with the spine vertical, the pages fan out, showing the translucency of the paper. More details about the process behind this book coming soon!
  • Concinnity, a handmade “album” with 9 layered papercut panels, hand bound. Each panel has both hand-cut and CNC cut elements made with a Silhouette Cameo and Adobe Illustrator. See individual panels in my portfolio here.
  • Sweet Relief, a zine collaboration with Molly Koehn and Bill Jamison. This zine features photographs of relief, both natural and artificial. Find out more about Sweet Relief and submit your images to be featured in the next volume here.

love making handmade books and would jump at the chance to make one for you: feel free to contact me with your project or idea.
