Flour.ish.ing Artisan Pizza Logo Design & Branding
A logo for naturally leavened artisan pizza, celebrating simple, local, and delicious ingredients
Makers of the best pizzas I’ve ever eaten, Flour.ish.ing Artisan commissioned a logo and brand identity for their food truck business that captured their skill, passion and love of amazing local food. Master baker Kathleen Cirillo and her partner Mike Gemmell gave me a detailed creative brief describing their aesthetic inspiration, the history behind their pizzas, connections to local farmers, and more. I hand cut the lettering from a linoleum block, digitized it to create a slate of variations to use across their truck, menus, pizza boxes, aprons, and more, and also paired it with a commercial typeface for more lettering. I was provided with generous samples and taste tests while they prepared to launch their business: best graphic design perk ever! A few visual references included Amos Paul Kennedy Jr.’s Citizen Printer, Linocuts by Bread & Puppet Theater and New Haven style pizza at APIZZA.
Please visit Flour.ish.ing at your next opportunity: not only are they wonderful human beings, their crisp, chewy and richly flavored dough and curated local ingredients conspire to bring joy to all their customers.
