1. Sunburst Panels
This week, I finished three 20×20″multimedia pieces with some simple interactivity.
This series includes the following layers:
- paper on tempered hardboard
- laser cut paper
- turntable hardware
- acrylic, back-painted and laser cut
- painted 3mm plywood cutout, laser cut
- hand-marbled paper laminated on to the back of clear acrylic, laser cut
- mulberry paper strips for outside edge trim
2. Monoprint / Monotype Printing
Some of the more successful monoprints I made this week included techniques from these reference books and materials:
- Print with collage and stitch: techniques for mixed-media printmaking, Val Holmes, Interweave Press, 2012
- Monoprints for the artist, Roger Marsh, Transatlantic Arts, 1969
- AKUA liquid pigment inks with soapy water resists
- Gamlin traditional relief inks
