Animal, Vegetable, Mineral paper cuts
These hand cut paper panels have been waiting for a home and found one at the International Gallery’s 100×100 event, opening First Friday, November 1, 2019.
- Three 9″ x 24″ panels
- 2 layers of hand marbled paper, selectively cut with an 11M Xacto blade
- Oil paints thinned with turpentine and floated on water
- Mounted between with laser-cut plywood header and footer and waxed cotton thread
- “Animal, vegetable, mineral” patterns based on space-efficient natural phenomena: geometric crystalline structures, flowing and oozing forms, and radial crusting arrays
