Animal, Vegetable, Mineral paper cuts

These hand cut paper panels have been waiting for a home and found one at the International Gallery’s 100×100 event, opening First Friday, November 1, 2019.

  • Three 9″ x 24″ panels
  • 2 layers of hand marbled paper, selectively cut with an 11M Xacto blade
  • Oil paints thinned with turpentine and floated on water
  • Mounted between with laser-cut plywood header and footer and waxed cotton thread
  • “Animal, vegetable, mineral” patterns based on space-efficient natural phenomena: geometric crystalline structures, flowing and oozing forms, and radial crusting arrays

Find a variety of awesome, affordable local artwork priced around $100 at the International Gallery of Contemporary Art, Anchorage. Their gallery openings on the first Friday of the month are a great chance to see what’s new in the art community, meet artists and curators, and get some hygge social time during the dark winter months.
