wave book (vermillion cliffs + edward abbey)
Measuring 34″ wide by 24″ high, this large folding ‘book’ features text by author and environmentalist Edward Abbey and patterns echoing the Wave, a sandstone formation in Vermillion Cliffs National Monument near Page, Arizona.
This piece was made at TechShop Chandler on their 60W Universal Laser System laser engravers with 0.2″ luon plywood, water soluble stain, and natural shellac sealant with waxed cotton thread.
Text reads: ‘May your trails be crooked, winding, lonesome, dangerous, leading to the most amazing view. May your mountains rise into and above the clouds.’
